The first edition of the WELDNET Newsletter announces the launch of this major Erasmus+ Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) initiative. Officially titled “Circular Material Welding Skills for a Green and Inclusive Automotive Industry,” WELDNET is a four-year project focused on bridging a significant skills gap—the shortage of qualified professionals in new-era welding and maintenance. The project addresses the urgent need to equip workers and vocational learners with the necessary
green and digital skills for circular material welding (CMW) and preventive maintenance systems (PMS) as Europe shifts towards a more sustainable industrial future. By establishing regional CoVEs across five European regions, WELDNET will foster collaboration between VET providers, industry, and authorities to develop inclusive, future-ready training programs, digital resources, and micro-credentials that directly align with real labor market needs and contribute to the European Green Deal.
