📰 WELDNET & HMI2MARKET: Learning Factories Driving Skills and Innovation

The WELDNET Project is pleased to highlight strengthened collaboration opportunities with the HMI2MARKET initiative, with a shared focus on Learning Factories as engines for skills development, innovation, and industry transformation.

A key milestone for HMI2MARKET is the launch of its Learning Factories, designed as collaborative spaces where students, researchers, and industry partners co-create solutions in real-world environments. These factories play a central role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and market-ready innovation, particularly in the field of human-machine interaction (HMI).

In parallel, ongoing HMI2MARKET hackathons are actively engaging multidisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge, inclusive, and user-centered solutions aligned with Industry 5.0 priorities. These hands-on events accelerate ideation, prototyping, and entrepreneurial thinking—core elements also embedded in WELDNET’s Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs).

This alignment reinforces a common vision between the two projects:
• empowering a future-ready workforce with digital, green, and inclusive skills
• strengthening regional innovation ecosystems through collaboration
• accelerating the uptake of advanced manufacturing and human-centric technologies

By connecting vocational excellence with higher education innovation ecosystems, WELDNET and HMI2MARKET demonstrate how Learning Factories—complemented by hackathons and co-creation activities—can turn skills into impact.
