WING was founded in 1964. With approximately 1,200 members, it connects professionals from engineering and business and promotes interdisciplinary exchange. Its goal is to help shape education and strengthen the professional profile of industrial engineers.

The WELDNET project addresses these challenges by establishing multiregional Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) that deliver flexible, inclusive training on maintenance and welding, and strengthen collaboration across industry, education, and research contributing to Europe’s long-term competitiveness and resilience.
