Following the Serbian CoVE working group meeting held in Kragujevac, WELDNET partners in Serbia have continued strengthening the national skills ecosystem for circular automotive manufacturing, material joining and preventive maintenance. The meeting brought together Helixconnect, REDASP Sumadija and Pomoravlje, AMM Manufacturing, MIND Group and Secondary School “Knez Aleksandar Karađorđević” Kragujevac, with the aim of defining the next steps for assessing the capabilities of vocational schools and industry training centres in the region.
Since then, significant progress has been made in mapping relevant vocational education providers and industry-support actors across Serbia. The process included institutions from Velika Plana, Trstenik, Aranđelovac, Čačak, Knić and Kraljevo, as well as associations and institutes from Belgrade, helping to create a broader picture of the Serbian skills ecosystem.
The initial findings show that the Serbian ecosystem has a solid foundation in leadership, organisational capacity and public-private cooperation, while further support is needed in areas such as accessibility and inclusion, internationalisation, green skills and advanced digitalisation. This progress represents an important step towards building a more connected, inclusive and industry-oriented CoVE model in Serbia. The next phase will focus on using the mapping results to support course adaptation, strengthen cooperation between education and industry, and develop practical skills pathways in circular material welding and preventive maintenance.
