In Bilbao, they attended the 33rd edition of BIEMH – the International Machine Tool Biennial, where they visited Valencian companies exhibiting at this international event.
The main areas of interest at the fair were: metal cutting and forming machinery (27%); tools, components and accessories (25%); automation, robotics and digitalization (24%); production- and business-related services (13%); and metrology (6%).
The most represented sectors were automotive (26%), capital goods (17%), aeronautics and aerospace (16%), steel industry (13%), energy (9%), rail (8%), oil & gas (5%) and shipbuilding (2%), with welding being a common element across all of them.
The shared commitment to professional networking was further strengthened through the WIN – Women in Industry initiative, which featured conferences, panel discussions and dialogue spaces aimed at raising the visibility of women in industry and accelerating the sector’s transformation towards greater diversity and gender balance.
Likewise, FEMEVAL and WELDNET also participated in HANNOVER MESSE, maintaining contact with the Valencian companies exhibiting there.
In this edition, Hannover Messe was structured around four main pillars: automation, digitalization, energy transition and security – key aspects for improving welding systems used by companies, developing new technologies and equipment, reducing energy costs, and adapting to the new skills required of welders working with this equipment.
A particularly relevant aspect for the project and the participating companies is that Spain will be the partner country at the 2027 edition, which will allow WELDNET to have a strong presence at the next HANNOVER MESSE.
In addition, and highlighting the importance of training future generations, FEMEVAL has taken part in the 1st Isidoro Zorzano Engineer Welding Award.
With the aim of involving the different training centers that provide welding education in the Valencian Community, the training organization Xabec organized this first competition. Students from vocational training welding programs at various centers in the Valencian Community took part, as well as individuals pursuing a professional certification.
The Xabec Welding and Logistics Training Centre, located in the Barrio del Cristo (province of Valencia), hosted this pioneering competition in the Valencian Community. Participants worked with TIG and MIG-MAG welding processes.
This was the first event of its kind in the Valencian Community, and several training centers have already expressed their interest in participating in future editions.
The main goal, in addition to establishing synergies and joint projects among the different training centers, is to give greater visibility to the work carried out with students who choose to study this Vocational Training qualification.
